EA had no physical retail presence in India after it parted ways with it’s distributor Milestone Interactive. Post 2015, EA games were exclusive to Amazon. However; things look like they’re about to change, and fast.
The latest press release from e-xpress states that they have acquired distribution rights to EA games in the country; which effectively means that e-xpress is the local partner for EA in India.
The press release states –
This partnership will bring games from popular franchises such as EA SPORTS™ FIFA, Battlefield™, Need for Speed™, Star Wars™ Battlefront and more officially to Indian retail stores, both online and offline.
“We are delighted to make this announcement,” said Mr. Amit Khemani, Founder of e-xpress Interactive software Pvt Ltd. “Electronic Arts is one the world’s leading video game publishers and delivers some of the best content to consumers. Their commitment, innovation and passion to create high-quality content is admired by gamers across the world and in India. Through this partnership, we will work hard to support their success in our country”.
Due to the up and coming retail presence for EA in India and them coming under e-xpress, perhaps we can expect more events and activities from EA in the near future?
